... beauty: Project Blade - The Trimester Edition: Part 3...

If it 's good enough for the movies, it's good enough for my blog. A trilogy that is, and so we come to the final part.

Aussie Sprunch spray - Best thing for curls EVER!!!!!!!!!!! Aussie, what the F*CK??!! We use styling products in the UK too, you know!!
Would I repurchase? No, but only because I CAN'T!

Laura Geller Creme to Powder foundation in Bisque - I like this product, it has SPF 20, gives decent coverage and was a good colour match (Bisque) for my pale skin even though it looked crazy dark in the compact. Repurchase? Possibly.

Laura Geller Bronze 'n' Brighten mini - Quite dark but I was able to use it for contouring in spite of my paleness. Repurchase? No, it contains talc.

MAC Innuendo eyeshadow - Lovely subtle taupe with a hint of shimmer, great for socket contouring. Repurchase? No, it contains talc.

Dove Pro-Age deodorant - Worked well enough but still made my underarms itchy and, even though I thought it smelled nice to begin with, after about a week I couldn't stand the smell! Repurchase? No.

Pro Strong Pro Moist hand cream - As you can see when I finish a product I really finish it! I bought this from QVC thanks to the promise of the hand cream keeping your hands supple even after hand washing. Sounds great, right? My hands still cracked this Winter so, no.

Decleor Ylang Ylang night balm - I love Decleor. I love the clarity this gives my skin. It also smells byoootiful.  Will I repurchase? If I can find a good deal, definitely. If not, probably.....

I hope these posts have been of interest. I already have more to add for my April update!

I think Blade would be proud........

... beauty: Save the Nail 45 Second Top Coat Review...

In a bid to cut out some of the more questionable chemicals in my beauty routine I have been on the hunt for a "Big 3 Free" top coat to replace my beloved Seche Vite.

The first candidate is Save the Nail 45 Second Top Coat.

I had never heard of this brand before seeing it in Boots on a quiet Thursday. Reading the blurb it seems to be some sort of offshoot of Nails Inc so I was quite hopeful when I handed my money over and excited to put it to the test.

Sadly, for me, this is not a keeper. Seche Vite is thick enough to makes my nails feel stronger while it's on, this one does not, I could still bend my nails a little while wearing it.

It didn't wear well either, my polish started chipping round the edges about half way through the week and, even on the first day of wear, the finish wasn't as glossy as Seche Vite.

I have seen quite a few good reviews of this on other blogs and the Boots website so obviously some people are having better luck with it than I did!

If you want to try it out yourself it costs £7.95 from Boots.

... beauty: Project Blade - The Trimester Edition: Part 2.......

In the second installment we have.........

Inecto Pure Coconut Conditioner. This is a definite repurchase for me. £1.50 from Savers and it works as my no-poo cleanser and leave in conditioner. It also smells of coconut. Enough said.

St Ives Apricot scrub. This was technically inherited by me (through relocation rather than death!) and, although it does the job well enough my skin just doesn't seem to like grainy scrubs.

Naked bodycare Wake Up white ginger shower gel. This was another Savers bargain - £1!! If they still have it in stock, I will repurchase - the rrp is £3.99 so, even though the smell is not my favourite, it's a great bargain for a sulphate-free product.

Done, done, on to the next one.........

EDIT: It has been pointed out to me by my auspicious benefactor that the Inecto conditioner was also, in fact, inherited. My apologies ;)

... beauty: EOTD - Summertime smokey featuring MUG!

So the sun is out and while it lasts I intend to make the most of it!

Here is the simple, relaxed look I went for today:

Products used:
- Mally eyeshadow base from lashes to brow
- MUG eyeshadow 'Glamorous' pressed all over my lid and lower lash line then blended out along my socket line.
- MUG 'Corrupt' eyeshadow smudged very lightly along top lashes
- Mally Evercolor automatic eyeliner pencil 'Onyx' in waterline
- MUG 'Shimma Shimma' eyeshadow as brow highlight

Plus lots of mascara as always!

I hope you like it, it made me feel Summery :)

Have a good weekend everyone!

... beauty: Project Blade - The Trimester Edition: Part 1.......

I have excuses but I'm not going to give them. Busy stuff, sad stuff, that's it.

However, my lack of posts does mean that I have quite a few empties to share so I have decided to split up the posts and extend the reading pleasure, rather than bombard you and your internet with relentless pictures.

Today we have:

This picture is terrible. I'm sorry.

From the left:
- Charles Worthington Daily Treat conditioner, travel size.
I really like this conditioner but, on top of trying to avoid silicones, I am not even sure that you can still buy this

- Gliss Shea Cashmere shampoo with Liquid Keratin
Again, a great product. This one is still available for the bargain price of £1 from Savers and 99p/£1 stores!

- Dove Intensive conditioner, free sample with Marie Claire
If I do give up on the 'cone free lifestyle this will be one for the shopping list; rich, hydrating and widely available :)

I hope that, in spite of the appalling photography, this was of some interest.

Happy Friday!!

... beauty: Haulin' haulin' haulin' B.E!! Featuring Faux and Foxy, Brush With Fame and Golden Fair....

Not often the theme song from Rawhide gets an outing these days, albeit with slightly different lyrics..........

Anyway, this mini haul was actually done during the Feel Unique January sale (!) so you have my apologies for the tardiness, life is complicated at times.

Without further ado: the good stuff!!

purrrty....

purrrtier.......

These pics look weird but it has been bizarrely misty lately making good lighting even harder to come by than usual.

The gold bag and brushes is the Brush With Fame collection. These brushes are GORGEOUS!! Not only are they tres purty to look at but they are soft enough to make kittens jealous!
I love them.

The bronze compact, retractable brush and bronze capped lipgloss make up the Faux and Foxy collection. Faux Tan is lovely, a kind of Haydn Panettiere, toffee coloured bronzer. The pinky-bronze  lipgloss is pigmented, hydrating and has an SPF. The retractable brush is soft, dense and stylish in a handbag.

Golden Fair seems to be a good match for my skin, it's a slightly warmer version of Fairly Light, which can sometimes be a little ashy on me.

I bought the brushes and the foundation from Feel Unique and Faux and Foxy from ebay.

I will update with slightly more comprehensive posts as I use the products more but, so far, it's a big thumbs up.

I love it when a plan comes together.................
