Seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens!

I am not a morning person, but by the time this is published, I will have gone to a viewing of Star Wars:The Force Awakens at 6.20am, at a cinema that is a hour away from my house, which means getting up at 4.30am and that the film will be over by the time I'm normally dragging myself to work in the morning.

I am tempted to try and vlog this experience, but we'll see how that goes. Either way, I will be posting my review this evening. I am excited, honestly, I just hope I can stay awake........

The Fear of Failure

A lot has changed since I last wrote anything here, but I don't feel like I've made any real progress. Still haven't lost weight (if anything I am bigger than ever - thank you desk job) still haven't finished my book and still haven't set up my Hypnotherapy business. It is truly amazing to me, the way that fear motivates in such a devastatingly negative way - if you let it hold you back, the way that I have, get used to never achieving your goals, because that is what the future holds.

I want that to change, which is why I am back here, starting again.

More posts to come.....

EOTD: Inspired by Tanya Burr, inspired by Haifa Wehbe

So I watched Tanya Burr's latest tutorial yesterday and, always looking for a good reason to use my green eye pencil, I decided to give it a go today.

Here are the products I used:
Base: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Broze
Lid: mix of MAC Satin Taupe and MUG Glamorous with Napoleon Perdis gold shimmer pigment over the top
Socket: MUG Purely Naked with MUG Mocha for extra definition
Highlight: Laura Geller Wonder Wand
Liner: top - Clinique Cream Liner in True Black, bottom - MUA Forest Green pencil
Mascara: Mally waterproof

Do check out her tutorial because it is fantastic as always.

Here's how mine turned out:

Silver EOTD + B.B success :)

Just a quick post today.
Weighed in this morning and I am back to pre-Christmas weight of 2 lbs lighter, woohoo!!

Now to the EOTD, here's what I used:

Base: Maybelline colour tattoo in silver/grey applied sheerly
Socket: MUG Purely Naked blended as a base, then MAC dark grey(I will check the colour) applied heavier with a small brush to deepen.
Lid: light application of MAC Electra
Lower: Mally Gunmetal shadow stick blended out with a little of the MAC dark grey in the outer corner
Highlights: Laura Geller Wonder Wand on brow bone, MAC Digit on inner corner
Liner: MUA pen on top for subtle definition, Mally Onyx on waterline.

Hope it's useful :)

Let Bookie Bootcamp (re)commence + EOTD

Great start to the year - my laptop died, so expect even more poorly edited posts than before!

What does the title mean? Well, because my blogging is random at best, I never got around to writing about my combined weight shedding/writing my first book project that I started in August.
Here is a catch up:
Between August 13th and the beginning of October I managed to shift about 19 pounds - yay! - but then came the Hamstring Hiatus, a terrible time during which my hamstring (and I) suffered the consequences of being slightly overzealous during a split stretch.
Don't do it kids, it's not worth it :(
Long story short, I have had no slimming progress since then (and put on 2 pounds over Christmas - booo) but have just had the all clear from my Physio that I can start doing proper, non-rehab-type workouts again, woohoo!! I do have to be careful though, no jumping, so no HIIT, until the pain is gone :(

I actually miss burpees.....

Writing-wise I have only done bits and bobs, basic outlines, character breakdowns, etc, but it's coming along and I fully intend to be finished in the next 6 months.

Actually, that goes for both aspects of my project.
I'm aiming to shift a healthy 2 pounds a week, so I should be 3 stone lighter by the end of June, and to write something, anything, every single day. Even if it's just a sentence.

So now to the starting stats.

I weighed 14 st 3 lbs in August. I didn't take any measurements but I was a UK 14/16
I now weigh 13st exactly, am about a 14 and have the stats:
Waist: 34
Hips: 44
Thigh: 25
Calf: 15

I may start posting food diaries, pics, etc, for accountability.
- Activity - 5 Factor Fitness preparation week day 1.
- Breakfast - Good Hemp protein powder mixed in water (bleurgh, will be trying other ways with this soon) sliced pear and berries.
- Lunch - chicken, slice of cheese with cannellini beans, spinach and peppers
- Supper - chicken, steamed new potatoes and veg with butter

Now, to follow this epic post, an EOTD!
Base: Maybelline Colour Tattoo Bronze
Lid: MAC Shroom
Socket/outer corner/ lower lash line : MAC Cranberry, blended slightly in over the lid too, and MUG Corrupt for emphasis.
Colour wash pressed lightly over it all: Napoleon Perdis pink-gold shimmer
Top liner: MUA black pen liner
Waterline: Mally Onyx eyeliner

Again, my trusty BB Rose Shimmerbrick on my cheeks and EL Double Wear everywhere else!

Please excuse the lighting, I had to use my bathroom again because there's been absolutely no sun here today!

Belated Boxing Day EOTD

Can't believe that Christmas has come and gone so quickly!
To hold on to the festivities a little while longer here is my, very simple, Boxing Day look

- Maybelline colour tattoo in Bronze as a base over my lid, blended up to my socket
- MUG Purely Naked in socket
- MUA Eyeliner pen in Black applied thinly along lash line
- lots of mascara!

On my cheeks I wore Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose and on my lips, Prescriptives lipgloss in Meteor (sheer cranberry, sadly discontinued).

Hope you like it :)

Festive eyes, too! Cranberry and green EotD

Merry Christmas!
This one's not the most wearable but I really like it :)
I've tried my best to get the colours to show up in the pictures but, as usual, I'm working with my phone camera and British winter sunlight, so it's pretty much impossible and it looks much prettier in real life.
I've used:
MUA Forest Green pencil in my socket, outer corner and under my eye.
MAC Cranberry across my lid
Napoleon Perdis shimmer powder No 37 ( a sheer gold shimmer ) pressed lightly over it all.
Clinique black cream liner on upper lash line
Mally Onyx eyeliner on waterline
Lots of black mascara, also from Mally
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Rose on my cheeks

I hope you like it, have a great day everyone :) xx

Festive fingers, festive toes! Christmassy nails and getting cosy in my Twilight boots...

Morning, Blogland and a Merry Christmas Eve to you all! :)
In the sprit of the season I thought I would paint my nails red and green and share with you the birthday present I bought myself which turned up late but is very much loved.

The nail colours are OPI Affair in Red Square and a-England Saint George and I am very pleased with them as a festive combo.

These lovelies are the Ugg Adirondack and they are so comfy and cosy that I don't quite trust them! If they look familiar to you they are also the boots that Kristen Stewart wears in Twilight.
There is also a tall version to keep your legs toasty, but I could only find them here on amazon in a UK 5 which would be just a smidge too small for me in my winter socks. If you are a 5, though, my advice is snap them up!

Please excuse any weirdness in the layout, etc, I am posting from my phone.

Merry Christmas everyone!! :)

It's my birthday!!

So I'm a million years old today but I don't look too shabby for it. I was going to post a picture of the wondrous present that I bought for myself but it hasn't arrived yet!

Instead, here is a picture of the Christmas tree I wish I had in my imaginary house in Whoville.......

Be still me beating heart, it's Rolo stuffed cookies!

I saw this recipe on the Self Facebook page and thought it would be downright cruel of me not to share it :)
That's right, it really does require 50 Rolos..........

Music Monday: Seven Devils by Florence and the Machine

I'm sure a huge portion of you reading will be going "Uh, this isn't new" but if it's new to me, it might be new to others and it's only polite to share, see?

I heard this song last week on the Revenge (UK) finale montage and, after the gripping season conclusion, I promptly typed "Seven Devils" into Google and found out that I am apparently a fan of Florence and the Machine and that it was also used for a Game of Thrones Season 2 promo.

I may be mildly obsessed with the song.
I may have had it on repeat for a few days.
At some point I will find out if the rest of the album is good too....

Exciting News if you love Kate Moss' Make Up!

Charlotte Tilbury, Ibiza cohort of Miss Moss and Grand Mistress of the Smokey Eye (yes, it deserves capitals) has decided to start a blog!

This blog will feature tutorials, reviews, quick-fix tips and behind the scenes glimpses into the (probably) ridiculously exciting life of a celebrity Make up Artist.

As a pre-emptive treat, Charlotte has released a Smokey Eye tutorial, featuring Laura Bailey, which you can see HERE on her new YouTube channel, or on the Grazia website.

I suggest we all watch and learn..... ;)

Lisa Eldridge's ingenious Brights vs Smoky tutorial

I know it's a bit lazy to just share someone else's video but this is such a good idea that I physically had to!

On the surface, it looks like it's been done using dark coloured shadows with varying undertones, BUT, it's actually an ingenious way of using up those random brights that everyone seems to own that never seem to get used.

All hail the Queen of Make Up ;)

Bring back Dairy Milk Mint Crisp!!

Ok, so these post are very random and more than a little complainy lately but this was my favourite chocolate bar ever and Cadburys, cruel mistress, discontinued it here the UK a good few ( too many ) years ago.

However.....

I just found out you can still buy it in Ireland!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might think this would make me happy - Yay, it still exists! I can once more savour it's delicious goodness!

Unfortunately, it's about £2.50 for a small bar PLUS International shipping costs so there'll be no savouring going on here.

So, in closing I would just like to say:

CADBURYS!! If you can feed Ireland you can feed Wales too! Bring Mint Crisp back!

Please...?

Today I have been mostly....

.... watching re-runs of An Idiot Abroad. Karl Pilkington is truly a genius.

Ricky Gervais, you are a lucky man and I thank you wholeheartedly for sharing your good fortune with us.
